L.W.P Majitu (Legendary Without Pressure) is a veteran Tanzanian hip-hop group formed in the late 1990s in Temeke, Dar es Salaam. The original trio: Sloter (Issa Iddy Ramadhani), Rockman (Rockman Clement Masawe), and Ally G, became known for bold Swahili lyricism, humor, and unfiltered commentary on everyday urban life. Emerging during the foundational years of Bongo Flava, they helped shape Tanzania’s early hip-hop identity with street-rooted storytelling and energetic delivery. Their debut album, Mke Wa Mtu ni Sumu (2000), featured defining tracks such as “Jela,” “Mke Wa Mtu Sumu,” and “Masimela,” earning them nationwide recognition. Over the years, they collaborated with respected artists, including Juma Nature, Chege, Inspekta Haroun, and Ben Pol. In 2022, they revisited their catalogue with Heshima Imetoweka, reaffirming their legacy. Despite lineup changes over time, L.W.P Majitu remains an influential force in Tanzanian hip-hop culture.
